Anambra First Lady Advocates for Stronger Child Protection

Dr. Nony Soludo, the First Lady of Anambra State and founder of the Healthi Live Initiative, has renewed her call for stronger child protection measures in Nigeria following the recovery of 10-year-old Chiziterem.

His case, which gained national attention after a viral video showed him suffering from severe burn injuries allegedly inflicted by his guardians, has sparked widespread condemnation. Dr.

Soludo described Chiziterem's recovery as a testament to the importance of prompt medical intervention and psychological support. She expressed gratitude to Nigerians who contributed to Chiziterem's recovery and confirmed that she fulfilled her promise to settle his medical bills and support his mother in establishing sustainable means of livelihood.

The Anambra State Police Command has arraigned Chiziterem's former guardians, Mr. Chukwudi Chukwuyer and Mr.

Chisom Chukwuyer, who are currently remanded in custody pending trial. Dr.

Soludo emphasized the need for sustained investment in child healthcare and psychosocial support services to protect vulnerable children from abuse and neglect.
