Anambra First Lady Supports Women Living with HIV

The First Lady of Anambra State, Chinwe Onuigbo, has initiated a program to empower women living with HIV/AIDS by providing them with support to engage in income-generating activities. This initiative targets members of the Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (NEPWHAN), Anambra State Chapter, and aims to improve their living conditions while addressing socioeconomic challenges such as poverty, stigma, and social exclusion.

During the engagement held in Awka, Dr Nkem Okeke, the Executive Director of the Anambra State AIDS Control Agency (ANSACA), praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his leadership and for creating an enabling environment that strengthens the state's response to HIV. This intervention is expected to significantly enhance the quality of life for the beneficiaries.
