Anambra State Unveils Plans for World AIDS Day Activities

The Anambra State Agency for the Control of AIDS (ANSACA) is intensifying its response to HIV by unveiling plans for World AIDS Day, which will be observed on December 1. Public Relations Officer Obianuju Isima announced these plans during a monthly review meeting, where agency heads assessed their performance for August and set priorities for September.

The review focused on activities undertaken, achievements, challenges, and gaps in the agency's programs. Isima commended Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo for his ongoing support of HIV programs, which has fostered an environment conducive to prevention, testing, and public awareness.

The planned activities for World AIDS Week include a press conference, HIV science symposium, football tournament, advocacy walk, road shows, and high-level advocacy visits to stakeholders. Committees have been formed to coordinate these activities, reinforcing the agency's commitment to accountability and continuous improvement in addressing HIV and its public health implications.
