Anambra Government Boosts Grassroots Waste Management Efforts

The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening grassroots governance through the empowerment of community leadership structures aimed at sustainable waste management and environmental sanitation. This commitment was reiterated during a strategic stakeholders’ engagement with Local Government Area Chairmen and Presidents-General from Anambra North Senatorial District at the Anambra East Local Government Headquarters in Otuocha.

Hon. Vin Ezeaka, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, stated that the Soludo administration is focused on repositioning the fourth tier of governance to enhance local government administration.

He urged local leaders to collaborate with the state government to support policies promoting environmental responsibility. Amb.

Engr. Clem Aguiyi, the Commissioner for Environment, emphasized the need for community leaders to take ownership of environmental protection efforts.

Hon. Emmanuel Ikechukwu Nweke, the Oyi Local Government Area Chairman, commended Hon.

Ezeaka for his efforts in reforming the Local Government Service Commission.
