Anambra Agency Seeks Private Sector Support for HIV Services

The Anambra State AIDS Control Agency (ANSACA) has called for enhanced collaboration with private-sector organizations to improve HIV prevention, testing, and treatment services in Anambra State. This appeal was made during an advocacy visit to JNC International Limited (JNCI) in Abuja, where discussions focused on community-based HIV interventions and healthcare access.

Dr. Nkem Okeke, Executive Director and Project Manager of ANSACA, stated that the state government, led by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, is committed to developing a responsive healthcare system. She highlighted the importance of sustainable partnerships to achieve the goal of eliminating new HIV infections by 2030.

ANSACA is promoting an integrated approach to community healthcare, combining HIV services with health education and referrals for other medical conditions. The meeting included discussions on community outreach, integrated testing, and health-worker training.

JNC International Limited pledged ongoing support for community healthcare initiatives, emphasizing the need for stronger partnerships to enhance healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
