Anambra SASA Dismantles Drug Networks, Seizes ₦80m Drugs

On Thursday, the Anambra State Special Anti-Tout Squad (SASA), under the leadership of Managing Director Mondai Nwokoy, executed a significant operation targeting illicit drug activities across the state. The raids, which took place in various locations including Onitsha, Nsugbe, Umuchu, Aguata, Ojoto, Oba, Idemili South, Nkpor, Idemili North, Nkwelle, and Ezunaka, resulted in the destruction of illicit drugs estimated to be worth ₦80 million.

This enforcement action was based on credible intelligence and underscores SASA's commitment to a zero-tolerance stance against drug abuse and related criminal activities. Nwokoy highlighted the dangers posed by drug dealers and distributors, linking their activities to broader issues of theft, violence, and insecurity within communities.

The operation also called for community cooperation in reporting suspicious activities to maintain a safe environment. Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo's support for these security operations was commended, reinforcing SASA's resolve to eliminate drug abuse and criminal activities in Anambra State.
