Anambra PDP Celebrates Supreme Court Ruling on Unity

The Anambra State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) expressed its approval of the Supreme Court's judgment delivered on April 30, 2026, which addressed ongoing crises within the party. The statement, signed by Dr.

Obumnem Nnoli, the Public Secretary of PDP Anambra, highlighted the court's decision regarding the Ibadan convention, which was seen as a step towards ending impunity and unconstitutional actions that had previously held the party hostage in Anambra. The judgment invalidated claims made by individuals, including Samuel Anyanwu, Umar Batur, and Kamaldeen Ajibad, who attempted to act in official capacities despite their suspension on November 1, 2025.

The PDP emphasized that the judgment reaffirmed the principles of legal due process and called for unity among its members. The party's executive committee, led by Dr.

Chidi Chideb, urged members to reconcile and work together to rebuild the party in Anambra State.
