NYSC Launches Health Initiative for Anambra Residents

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) conducted its first quarter 2026 health initiative for rural dwellers in Anambra State, specifically at the Amichi Memorial Hospital in Nnewi South Local Government Area. The outreach, held on Thursday, aimed to provide comprehensive free medical services to 120 residents of Amichi, including elderly women, youth, and children.

NYSC State Coordinator Paulin Ojisua expressed gratitude to the Amichi community for their support and highlighted the initiative as a milestone in improving healthcare access in underserved rural areas. The program featured free medical consultations, drug distribution, and laboratory tests, including screenings for HIV and hepatitis.

Ojisua emphasized the mission to uplift families and strengthen communities while building resilience in Nigeria. The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr.

Chukwudalu Orji, praised the partnership with NYSC, noting its significant impact on healthcare access in the local government area.
