Anambra Seals Illegal Clinics Over Quack Practices

The Anambra State Ministry of Health has taken action to seal illegal clinics and birth centers operating in Ifitedunu, Dunukofia Local Government Area, due to allegations of unprofessional medical practices. The enforcement team, led by Dr.

Afam Obidik, conducted investigations that revealed these facilities were operating without the necessary licenses. The operation took place on Thursday, as part of the state government's ongoing efforts to eliminate illegal health practices and ensure quality healthcare delivery.

Dr. Obidik reiterated the government's commitment to combating quackery in the health sector, emphasizing that the situation is no longer business as usual for unprofessional healthcare operators.

The Ministry of Health has urged residents to patronize registered and accredited health facilities to protect lives in Anambra. Regulatory actions will continue against unregistered hospitals, maternity homes, and traditional birth attendant facilities, with warnings of potential closure and prosecution for non-compliance.
