Enugu Seals Four Unlicensed Private Hospitals

On July 8, the Enugu State Ministry of Health sealed four unlicensed private hospitals located in the Enugu North Local Government Area. This action was confirmed by the ministry's public relations officer, Chidiogo Ugodu, who stated that the hospitals failed to obtain the required licenses and did not meet necessary regulatory requirements.

The ministry is intensifying its monitoring and supervision of private healthcare facilities across the state as part of its efforts to ensure quality healthcare delivery and compliance with regulatory standards. The initiative is part of a renewal exercise led by the commission's health professional, Georg Ugwu.

The team, which included the Director of Medical Services, Dr. Chinyer Ezeudu, conducted an unscheduled inspection visit to the healthcare facilities to monitor compliance with statutory requirements, including the renewal of operational licenses and proper registration of facilities.
