Anglican Bishop Odedeji Addresses Nigeria's Economic Hardship

Olusola Odedeji, the Anglican Bishop of the Diocese of Lagos West, addressed economic hardships in Nigeria during the third session of the ninth synod held on Friday at the Archbishop Vining Memorial Cathedral in Ikeja, Lagos State. He expressed optimism for better days ahead, stating that the country will overcome its current economic challenges, which he attributed to ongoing government reforms.

Odedeji highlighted the significant decline in the value of the naira and the impact of insecurity on travel within the country, particularly between Lagos and Ibadan. He urged President Bola Tinubu to intensify efforts to ensure a safer environment for Nigerians.

The bishop commended the Lagos State government, particularly Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for their contributions to safety and development. He emphasized the church's role in societal building and called for continued moral guidance and civic participation to address social challenges, including mental health.
