Prosecution Opposes Suspects' Release in Angwa Rukuba Case

In a Plateau State High Court, the prosecution, led by State Attorney General Philemon Audu Daffi, argued that it would be risky to allow four suspects in the Angwa Rukuba attacks to leave the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS). The suspects are set to stand trial in April 2026 for their involvement in the killings that occurred in Jos North LGA, which resulted in the deaths of 30 people.

The prosecution filed charges against Isa Umar Ibrahim, Auwalu Abubakar, Musa Abubakar Ibrahim, and Adamu Isa Alhassan, including conspiracy to commit terrorism and culpable homicide. The court, presided over by Justice Danladi Longden, has ordered the suspects to remain in DSS custody until the next court date on May 8, 2026.

The case has drawn attention following President Bola Tinubu's visit to Jos earlier in the month, where he assured justice for the victims and announced a N2 billion donation to support them.
