Okowa Critiques Nwoko on Anioma State Creation Push

Ifeanyi Okowa, the former governor of Delta State, publicly criticized Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North in the National Assembly, for allegedly deceiving the people regarding the creation of Anioma State. During a meeting with All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Oshimili South Local Government Area on Tuesday, Okowa stated that common sense should have indicated to Nwoko that his actions were misguided.

He described Nwoko's push for Anioma State as "terrible" and emphasized that it does not align with the aspirations of the Delta North populace. Okowa also referenced the historical context of Asaba, the capital of Delta State, and mentioned that the decision to create Anioma State should have involved better consultation with representatives and the community.

He reaffirmed that the Delta North people do not desire the establishment of Anioma State as part of the South-South geopolitical zone, rather than being grouped with the South-East.
