Apapa Customs Targets 200 Containers/Hour for Efficient Trade Processes

Apapa Customs at the Apapa Command of the Nigeria Customs Service aims to increase container scanning to 200 per hour. The Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Oluwadare Oshoba, highlighted the modernization initiative to enhance trade processes.

The installation of three new fixed scanners at the port is underway, with plans to exceed the scanning target. The scanners will be strategically positioned for efficient inspection, ensuring consignments do not evade scrutiny.

The Customs Service is committed to modernization, with intensive training sessions planned for officers. The Trade Modernisation Project assures the completion of the scanner installation within 45 days, enhancing operational efficiency at the port.
