APC and Accord Party Clash Over Ikire Violence Incident

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke's administration of facilitating violent attacks by suspected hoodlums in Ikire, which resulted in the deaths of five individuals, including three commercial drivers and two passers-by. Oluwafunsho Fagbohungbe, Chairman of the Osun APC Media Cluster, stated that the violence erupted when hoodlums allegedly linked to the Accord Party attempted to seize control of a motor park.

Fagbohungbe described the incident as a calculated attack on public safety and called for immediate police intervention to restore order. In response, Victor Akande, Chairman of the Osun State Accord Party, condemned the violence and accused Divisional Police Officer Bamidele Olatona of instigating the chaos by opening fire on civilians without provocation.

Akande claimed the incident was part of a broader pattern of violence in the Irewole Local Government Area, criticizing the police for failing to address prior violence and harboring partisan thugs.
