Shooting at Osun APC Rally Injures Three, Commissioner Arrested

On Saturday, during a street rally held by the Ilesa West Local Government Area chapter of the All Progressives Congress in Ilesa, Osun State, at least three individuals were injured due to a shooting incident. Among the injured was 14-year-old Tobi Ilesanmi, who was shot near the scene.

The Osun State Police Command spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi, reported that the shooting was allegedly carried out by operatives of the Amotekun Corps, who arrived in a vehicle with an official Osun State Government number plate. Following the incident, the police arrested Osun State Commissioner for Environment, Mayowa Adejoorin, who was passing through Ilesa.

The police apprehended Adejoorin and others after discovering a pump-action gun and expended cartridges at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, with tactical teams deployed to various locations in response to the incident.
