Accord Party Accuses APC of Vandalizing Osun Projects

The Accord Party in Osun State has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of deliberately vandalizing public infrastructure established by Governor Ademola Adeleke's administration. This allegation comes as the state approaches the August 15 governorship election.

The party claims to have received credible reports of attacks on roads, streetlights, and other public facilities, asserting that these incidents are politically motivated attempts to create a false narrative of government failure. Pastor Victor Akande, the Osun State Chairman of the Accord Party, stated that these acts are not mere criminal activities but a calculated effort by "desperate elements" within the APC to undermine the administration's achievements.

The Accord Party has urged security agencies to investigate these incidents thoroughly and prosecute those responsible, regardless of their political affiliations. They also plan to enhance surveillance around government projects and reported that officials from the Ministry of Works are inspecting affected sites for damage assessment.

In response, the APC criticized the structural integrity of the newly commissioned Lameco Junction Flyover in Osogbo, alleging it was awarded to an unqualified contractor.
