APC Accused of Sponsoring Boko Haram and Insecurity

Martin Onovo, the former presidential candidate of the National Conscience Party (NCP), has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of sponsoring Boko Haram and contributing to terrorism and insecurity in Nigeria. Onovo's allegations arose in response to what he described as the government's weak response to violent attacks across the country.

He criticized the APC's expectation to combat a network it allegedly supports, referencing comments made by Vice President Kashim Shettima advocating for dialogue with insurgents. Onovo also cited retired military officer Theophilus Danjuma's assertion that the armed forces are not neutral and collude with bandits.

He questioned the federal government's swift action against a coup plot in Benin Republic while failing to confront terrorism in Nigeria. Onovo referenced a court case in Dubai that purportedly links senior APC members to terrorism sponsorship, including allegations against APC leader Alhaji Kawu Baraje for importing Fulani terrorists during the 2015 elections.

He concluded that these patterns leave no doubt about the APC's direct involvement in sponsoring insecurity in Nigeria.
