APC and ADC Tie Votes in FCT Area Council Elections

In the recent area council elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the polling unit reported an equal distribution of votes between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), with each party securing 12 votes. The elections experienced a notably low voter turnout, with only 32,749 registered voters casting their ballots.

Martin Sani announced the results, while Christoph Maikalangu represented the APC and Paul Mose the ADC. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), led by Dr.

Olusola Odumosu, monitored the voting process across various polling units, reporting that voters conducted themselves in an orderly manner, which resulted in no cause for alarm. Odumosu commended the massive deployment of security personnel, which aimed to prevent any potential chaos during the elections.

He expressed confidence that the elections would conclude smoothly without violence, and preparations for the 2027 general elections were already being discussed.
