APC and Adeleke Clash Over Teenager's Killing in Osun

A clash has erupted between the APC and the camp of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke regarding the killing of 14-year-old Ezekiel Olapad in Ilobu. The incident occurred on a Sunday when Olapad was shot in the head while attempting to rescue his mother during a violent altercation involving hoodlums.

APC's spokesperson Kola Olabisi accused Adeleke of politicizing the tragedy, claiming his visit to the bereaved family was a political maneuver. The APC criticized Adeleke's handling of the situation, asserting that he failed to prioritize a police investigation.

In response, Pelumi Olajengbesi from the APC's Imol Campaign Council dismissed the allegations, urging restraint and emphasizing the need for impartial security measures to protect citizens. The incident has intensified political tensions in Osun State, particularly with the upcoming governorship elections scheduled for August 15, 2026.
