APC Raises N4.45bn for 2027 Elections Amid Fragmentation

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has significantly enhanced its financial resources for the 2027 general elections by generating over N4.45 billion from the sale of nomination forms. This amount includes contributions from two presidential aspirants and 83 governorship aspirants, with forms priced at N50 million for presidential nominations, N20 million for senatorial forms, and N10 million for House of Representatives forms.

Amidst this financial boost, the party is facing fragmentation within its ranks, particularly within the Progressive Governors' Forum (PGF). The forum's chairman, Hope Uzodinma, has been actively countering opposition within the group, which includes 18 APC governors who expressed support for his leadership during a recent meeting.

The APC is also preparing for its primaries, with the House of Representatives primaries scheduled for May 15, 2026, senatorial primaries on May 18, and governorship primaries on May 21. Committees have been established to screen aspirants for these positions, with a focus on ensuring a united front ahead of the elections.
