APC Denounces Osun Assembly's Claims on REC Redeployment

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the Osun State Assembly for suggesting that the redeployment of Dr. Mutiu Agbok, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, to Ondo State was influenced by former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.

In a statement signed by party spokesperson Kola Olabisi, the APC urged the state lawmakers to refrain from involving themselves in matters that are the statutory responsibility of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The Assembly, led by Speaker Mr.

Wale Egbedun, had accused Oyetola of orchestrating the transfer, which the APC described as unsubstantiated and frivolous. The party noted that staff transfers within INEC are routine and do not warrant controversy.

The statement also criticized the current administration under Governor Ademola Adeleke for its declining popularity and alleged that the Assembly's claims were a distraction from their governance failures. Dr.

Agbok's redeployment was officially announced late Wednesday and is seen as part of preparations for the 2026 Osun governorship elections.
