Osun APC Refutes Lawmaker's Claims on INEC Staff Transfers

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed allegations made by lawmaker Adewal Egbedun concerning the transfer of staff within the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Kola Olabisi, the APC's Director of Media and Information, described Egbedun's claims as unfounded, following a press briefing held in Osogbo.

The APC stated that the staff redeployments fall within the statutory responsibilities of INEC and are routine administrative actions, not politically motivated. The party emphasized that the transfers have occurred previously without controversy and that they are unaware of the specific staff movements referenced by Egbedun.

The APC accused the lawmaker of attempting to divert attention from governance issues and suggested that the allegations were politically motivated ahead of the August 15, 2026, governorship election. The party reaffirmed its support for Gboyega Oyetola and its commitment to ensuring a successful electoral process, urging the public to disregard the allegations as baseless.
