Osun Assembly Protests INEC REC Transfer, Vows Resistance

On Thursday, the Osun State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Hon. Adewale Egbedun, protested the redeployment of Dr.

Mutiu Agbok, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for the state. The assembly expressed serious concerns regarding the potential influence on the electoral process ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

They highlighted plans to redeploy other electoral officials, which they believe could compromise the integrity of the elections. The assembly emphasized that the people of Osun State would not tolerate any attempts to manipulate the electoral process, asserting that any administrative changes would not override the will of the electorate.

They called attention to the recent deployment of electoral officials in Ekiti State, questioning the legitimacy of such actions. The assembly firmly stated that any electoral conduct must adhere strictly to constitutional electoral laws, and they would resist any actions undermining the credibility of the electoral process.
