APC Addresses Speculation on Governor Bala Mohammed's Defection

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has clarified its position on the speculation surrounding Governor Bala Mohammed's possible defection from the People's Democratic Party (PDP). Bauchi APC Chairman Muhammad Hassan emphasized that the decision to defect is solely the governor's and that the party cannot confirm any claims without formal communication.

He noted that the process of defection should follow a structured path starting from grassroots levels, rather than being a top-down decision. Despite circulating rumors about Governor Mohammed considering a move away from the PDP, he has maintained his commitment to the party, as stated by PDP leadership member Kabiru Taninu Turaki.

The APC remains open to receiving the governor should he choose to defect, but no formal communication has been received regarding his intentions. The situation continues to develop amid ongoing discussions within the party ranks.
