APC Calls for Investigation into Jega Violence in Kebbi

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has demanded a full, transparent, and impartial investigation into the violence that occurred in the Jega community, resulting in significant property destruction. In a statement issued in Birnin Kebbi, the APC State Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Isah Assalafi, expressed sympathy for the victims and called for calm among residents and political actors.

He emphasized the need for community unity and the importance of democracy prevailing over violence. Assalafi urged stakeholders to work together to restore confidence and prevent future incidents, stating that criminality must be addressed regardless of the perpetrators.

He commended the efforts of security agencies and community leaders in restoring peace and cautioned against inflammatory rhetoric that could escalate tensions. Assalafi also called on political parties to take responsibility for their supporters' actions and to engage in peaceful democratic processes, asserting that political differences should not justify violence or destruction.
