APC Excludes Gabriel Suswam and 24 Aspirants from INEC List

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially dropped Gabriel Suswam, a former governor of Benue State, along with 24 other National Assembly aspirants from its final candidates list submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the upcoming 2027 elections. This decision follows a review by the party's National Working Committee (NWC) and recommendations made by the primary election appeal committee.

The list, which includes candidates for five senatorial seats and 19 House of Representatives constituencies, was finalized after the party's primary elections held in May 2026. The letter to INEC was jointly signed by APC National Chairman Nentaw Yilwatda and National Secretary Ajibola Basiru.

The party's final position affects constituencies across several states, including Abia, Kogi, Taraba, Benue, Ebonyi, Ondo, Kaduna, Niger, and Kwara. The APC has also received 700 petitions from aggrieved aspirants during the primaries, but the immediate priority remains the successful submission of candidates' nomination forms to INEC by the deadline.
