APC Submits Final Candidate List to INEC, Drops Key Names

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has submitted a final list of candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which includes the removal of six senatorial and 19 House of Representatives candidates. Notable exclusions are former Benue State Governor Gabriel Suswam and former House member Gbenga Elegbeley.

The adjustments were made following recommendations from the party's primary election appeal committee, which reviewed the outcomes of the primaries conducted in May 2026. The list affects various states, including Abia, Kogi, Taraba, Benue, Ebonyi, Ondo, Kaduna, Niger, and Kwara.

The letter to INEC was jointly signed by APC National Chairman Nentaw Yilwatda and National Secretary Ajibola Basiru. The party is also preparing to upload names of presidential candidates to INEC's nomination portal by the deadlines of June 27 and July 10.

The APC has received 700 petitions from aggrieved members during this process, but the party's priority remains completing the INEC nomination forms.
