APC Submits Final List of Senatorial Candidates to INEC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has submitted a final list of senatorial candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which includes the removal of six candidates. Notable among those dropped are former Benue Governor Gabriel Suswam and former Ondo State House of Representatives member Gbenga Elegbeleye.

The final list was sent to INEC on June 27, 2026, and includes candidates for seven senatorial districts and 19 House of Representatives constituencies. The list was approved following a review by the party's National Working Committee (NWC) and an appeal committee after the primary elections held in May 2026.

The letter to INEC was signed by APC National Chairman Prof. Nentaw Yilwatda and Secretary Ajibola Basiru.

The party is also preparing for the presidential nominations, with the INEC portal closing on July 10, 2026. The APC has received 700 petitions from aggrieved members regarding the nomination process.
