APC Submits 13 Governorship Candidates for 2027 Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has submitted the nomination details for 13 governorship candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as part of its preparations for the 2027 general elections. This submission is part of the party's efforts to meet the August 8 deadline set by INEC for the submission of candidates for governorship and State House of Assembly positions.

A senior APC official confirmed that the nomination details had been processed and uploaded through INEC’s portal, with additional candidates' documentation being finalized. The candidates include Obafemi Hamzat (Lagos State), Solomon Adeola (Ogun State), Umar Bago (Niger State), Ahmed Wadada (Nasarawa State), Yakubu Danladi (Kwara State), Hyacinth Alia (Benue State), Ahmed Galadima (Adamawa State), and Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau State).

The APC's ICT team is managing the upload process, although technical issues with the INEC portal have delayed submissions for State Houses of Assembly. Despite this, the party remains optimistic about resolving these issues swiftly.

APC Director of Publicity, Bala Ibrahim, stated that efforts are underway to reconcile aggrieved stakeholders within the party.
