APC Expects 8,453 Delegates for Abuja Convention

The All Progressives Congress (APC) expects 8,453 delegates from 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to participate in its national convention scheduled for Friday and Saturday in Abuja. Mohammed Malagi, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, disclosed this during a media briefing, highlighting the convention's theme of "Unity, Progress, and Renewed Hope," which aligns with the party's vision for future achievements.

The convention aims to provide delegates with opportunities to engage in policy discussions and elect new party leaders. Aminu Masari, the chairman of the central coordinating committee, expressed satisfaction with the preparations, which include the establishment of 25 sub-committees to ensure proper execution.

Addressing concerns about potential litigation, Masari stated that the party was unaware of any court actions affecting the convention and emphasized the importance of maintaining the party's zonal structure. However, there are allegations of irregularities regarding the zoning process, with Fubara Dagogo challenging the exclusivity of a zonal congress held in Asaba on March 25, 2026.
