APC Extends Tenure of Caretaker Committees in Ekiti, Osun

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially extended the tenure of its caretaker committees in Ekiti and Osun states for an additional six months. This decision was ratified during the party's national convention held on a Friday, aimed at ensuring administrative continuity and stability in light of the forthcoming gubernatorial elections.

Senator Barau Jibrin, representing Kano North, moved the motion for the extension, which was seconded by Senator Opeyemi Bamidele. The current caretaker committees' tenure was set to expire at the end of March 2026.

However, due to the political developments in the current period, it was deemed unviable to conduct fresh congresses. The extension allows for proper coordination and consolidation in preparation for the congress.

The motion was unanimously approved by the delegates at the convention, which also included a formal dissolution of the National Working Committee (NWC) to pave the way for the election of new national officers.
