APC Screens Candidates for Lagos, Bauchi, Gombe Primaries

The All Progressives Congress (APC) conducted screenings for governorship aspirants in Lagos, Bauchi, and Gombe states. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, described the screening process as rigorous and credible, ensuring that all submitted documents were verified and that aspirants' track records were assessed.

He expressed confidence in his chances of winning the Lagos governorship primary. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, a former Minister of Foreign Affairs and governorship aspirant for Bauchi State, noted that the screening was smooth and routine, highlighting his long-standing relationship with the party.

He raised concerns about the possibility of a consensus candidate due to an unexpected influx of new entrants. Isa Ali Pantami, the former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, described the Gombe State screening as transparent and fair, emphasizing the importance of internal democracy within the APC.

All candidates expressed optimism about their chances in the upcoming primaries.
