APC Affirms Democracy's Resilience Amid Opposition Concerns

The All Progressives Congress (APC) asserted on Tuesday that Nigeria's democracy will endure, even if opposition parties do not participate in future elections. This statement was made in response to complaints from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which alleged threats to its electoral participation.

APC spokesman Sey Oladejo emphasized that the party operates within the legal framework and adheres to electoral regulations set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He noted that any failure by a political party to meet electoral requirements would naturally lead to consequences, referencing APC's own experience in the 2019 general elections when it was barred from participating in elections in Zamfara and Rivers states due to legal issues.

The APC criticized the ADC for attempting to shift responsibility for its internal crises onto the electoral process, describing these issues as a result of disorganization that has weakened the party's credibility. The APC urged political actors to resolve internal conflicts and comply with electoral guidelines to strengthen public confidence in Nigeria's democratic process.
