Dapo Abiodun Screened for Ogun East Senate Race by APC

Dapo Abiodun, the Governor of Ogun State, was screened by the APC National Working Committee (NWC) on Friday as part of the party's internal process for candidates seeking election in the Ogun East senatorial district for the upcoming 2027 general elections. This screening took place at the APC national secretariat in Abuja, as disclosed by Emmanuel Ojo, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media.

Abiodun expressed his desire to deepen development and effectively represent the people of Ogun East, reaffirming his commitment to quality representation and grassroots development. He also acknowledged the support of party leaders and stakeholders during the screening process.

The screening is part of the APC's internal procedures to vet aspirants for electoral positions. Abiodun had previously submitted his nomination form to signal his intent to run for the senatorial seat, focusing on infrastructure, education, agriculture, and social welfare as part of his development agenda.
