APC and PDP Clash Over Ali Pantami's Membership Status

The All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People's Democratic Party (PDP) are engaged in a dispute regarding the political membership status of former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Ali Pantami. This controversy arose after Pantami was announced as the PDP governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections.

The APC, represented by Mose Kyari, asserts that Pantami is still a bona fide member of their party, claiming that due process was not followed in his resignation. Kyari stated that neither he nor the APC executive committee received a resignation letter from Pantami.

In contrast, the PDP maintains that Pantami has fulfilled all constitutional requirements to resign from the APC and has provided documentary evidence to support this claim. The PDP also noted that the resignation letter was acknowledged by the APC ward chairman.

The APC has called for clarification from its national leadership to prevent misinformation, while the PDP urges the APC to focus on upcoming elections rather than distractions.
