Gombe PDP Defends Isa Pantami's Membership Status

The Gombe State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) issued a statement on Tuesday, asserting that Professor Isa Pantami is a bona fide member of their party. This statement comes in response to claims made by the All Progressives Congress (APC) regarding Pantami's membership status.

The PDP dismissed the APC's assertions as laughable and indicative of ignorance of the Electoral Act and party constitution. The PDP stated that it possesses documentary evidence confirming Pantami's resignation from the APC, including a resignation letter acknowledged by the APC's ward chairman on May 19, 2026.

The PDP urged APC members and the general public to disregard the misleading claims circulating from the APC. Furthermore, the PDP called on the APC to focus on preparing for the upcoming general elections rather than engaging in distractions.

The statement emphasized that the constitutional Electoral Act guarantees citizens the freedom to associate with any political party of their choice.
