ADC's Momodu Critiques APC's One-Party State Agenda

In an interview, ADC chieftain Momodu expressed strong criticism of the All Progressives Congress (APC), alleging that their attempts to transform Nigeria into a one-party state will ultimately fail. He described these efforts as a strategy to weaken opposition groups and consolidate power, stating that it is shocking to want to govern Nigeria under a single party.

Momodu accused the APC of miscalculating the strength of opposition figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Kwankwaso. He further alleged that the APC is trying to create divisions within major opposition parties, pointing to recent developments such as the quick approval of a faction within the People's Democratic Party (PDP) by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Momodu warned that the APC's strategy involves significant investment in the judiciary to influence political outcomes, which undermines democratic institutions and deepens citizens' vulnerabilities amid economic hardship.
