APC Reschedules Presidential and Governorship Primaries

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the postponement of its presidential and governorship primaries, originally scheduled for earlier dates. Duro Meseko, the Deputy National Public Secretary, disclosed this decision at the end of the 186th National Working Committee meeting held in Abuja.

The presidential primaries are now set for May 15, 2026, while the governorship primaries will take place on May 21, 2026. The adjustments also include a revised timeline for candidate screening, which will now occur from May 6 to May 9, 2026.

The screening results will be made public on May 11, 2026, with an appeal committee handling any disputes from May 12 to May 13, 2026. The party's activities are aligned with the Independent National Electoral Commission's revised schedule for the 2027 general elections, and the APC has provided a new timeline for the conduct of these elections.
