APC Aspirants Clear Obasa of Protest Sponsorship Claims

In the wake of recent protests in Lagos State concerning the APC primaries, aspirants have defended Mudashiru Obasa, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, against allegations that he sponsored the protests. These protests arose from grievances over perceived irregularities in the primary elections, with claims circulating that Obasa had financed the demonstrations with N2 billion.

However, in a statement released on Wednesday, the aggrieved aspirants labeled the allegations as false and misleading, emphasizing that the protests were a spontaneous reaction from thousands of APC members expressing their frustrations. They criticized the accusations as attempts to distract from the core issues at hand, urging party leaders to address the grievances to prevent further internal divisions ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Obasa himself dismissed the claims as foolish, malicious, and baseless, questioning the logic behind such accusations and reaffirming his commitment to peace and unity within the party.
