APC Primaries in Borno Declared Inconclusive Amid Complaints

The All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries for the Borno constituency election were declared inconclusive by the committee chairman, Prophet Jone Od, during an interview at the APC secretariat in Maiduguri on Sunday. This decision followed complaints received concerning the election process in the Askira Uba and Hawul federal constituencies, particularly regarding aspirant Comrade Audu Garba Zali.

The committee will await the report from the appeal committee before announcing the results. The chairman explained that direct primaries were successfully conducted in two out of ten federal constituencies, including Bama, Ngala, and Maiduguri Metropolitan.

Hon. Mustapha Abdullahi and Hon.

Abdulkadir Rahi received major votes of 20,509 and 38,576, respectively. Five out of ten aspirants were declared consensus candidates.

The committee supervised the conduct of the primaries across 27 local government areas and 312 electoral wards, ensuring compliance with electoral procedures and standards established by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
