Yusuf Buhari Wins APC Primaries Amid Controversy

In the APC primaries, Yusuf Buhari emerged as the flag bearer for the Daura, Sandamu, and Mai Adua federal constituency, receiving 17,342 votes to defeat his opponent Auwalu Musa Daura, who garnered only 480 votes. Following the announcement of the results by the chairman of the APC primary election committee, Yusuf Buhari expressed gratitude to party members for their support and pledged to work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure the APC's success in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

He called on all party members to unite for the overall success of the party. However, Auwalu Musa Daura, the son of former DSS Director General Lawal Daura, rejected the election results, claiming irregularities in the conduct of the primaries.

He expressed dissatisfaction with the process, alleging that it did not comply with party guidelines and that many participants were not registered APC members. Auwalu Daura emphasized the need for transparency and fairness in the party's internal democracy.
