APC Stakeholders Divided Over Yusuf Buhari's Endorsement

A meeting held in Sandamu Local Government Area, Katsina, last week revealed divisions among APC stakeholders regarding the endorsement of Yusuf Buhari as a candidate for the Daura-Sandamu-Mai Adua Federal Constituency in the 2027 elections. Usman Na Lado, the council chairman, described the endorsement as a collective resolution aimed at strengthening the party's chances in upcoming polls.

However, dissent arose as some stakeholders, including Barrister Usman Ahm El Marzuk, accused certain individuals of attempting to impose candidates, undermining the party's democratic processes. Governor Dikko Umar Radda firmly denied these allegations, asserting that the decision on candidates should remain with the local area and not be dictated by a few individuals.

The meeting emphasized the importance of protecting the APC's legacy and maintaining unity, with calls for retraction of false claims to avoid creating divisions that could benefit opposition parties.
