APC Primaries: Omo-Agege Pushes for Direct Elections

During a press conference in Abuja, Ovie Omo-Agege, a former Deputy Senate President, expressed his preference for direct primary elections for the APC in Delta as he seeks to return to the Senate. He emphasized the importance of his constituency's voice in the national assembly and the need for representation to ensure democracy's dividends.

Meanwhile, in Kastina, Governor Radda announced that the APC state chapter has adopted a consensus approach for its primaries, which includes 361 ward councillors, 34 local government positions, 34 state assembly members, 15 national assembly members, and three senators. Radda stated that this decision was made after consultations with stakeholders to maintain party strength and cohesion.

He also highlighted the support from the people for his efforts in securing the state. Both leaders are preparing for the upcoming 2027 elections, with Omo-Agege stressing the need for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to return to power.
