APC South Africa Chair Praises Tinubu's State Police Initiative

Dr. Oluwatosin Ademola Ojo, the Chair of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Mpumalanga Province, South Africa, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his dedication to establishing state police in Nigeria. Ojo described this initiative as a landmark step to strengthen the internal security architecture of the country.

He emphasized that the establishment of state police would complement the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies in addressing insecurity across Nigeria. Ojo highlighted the need for adequate funding, personnel training, and logistics to ensure that state police operate effectively and independently.

He urged state governors to prioritize the welfare of state police personnel, providing competitive remuneration and modern equipment. Ojo cautioned against politicizing the new security structure, warning that the success of state police would largely depend on responsible leadership and strict adherence to the rule of law.

He expressed confidence that state police would significantly enhance intelligence gathering at the grassroots level, ultimately reducing crime across the federation.
