APC Dominates Edo Local Government Elections Results

The All Progressives Congress (APC) achieved a clean sweep in the Edo State Local Government elections, winning all contested positions. The results were announced by Jonathan Aifuobhokhan, the chairman of the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC), who confirmed that APC secured 18 chairmanship seats and 192 councillorship positions.

The elections took place across 18 local government areas and 192 wards, with the voting process conducted in accordance with the Edo State Local Government Electoral Law of 2022. Aifuobhokhan noted that the elections were successfully conducted despite minor operational challenges that did not significantly affect the overall outcome.

He commended the political parties, candidates, traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil society organizations, community leaders, youth, and women groups for their peaceful conduct during the electoral process. Governor Mondai Okpebholo was praised for providing an enabling environment for the commission to fulfill its constitutional responsibilities.
