APC Wins All Seats in Edo State Local Government Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) achieved a significant victory in the Edo State local government elections, securing all available positions. The party won 18 chairmanship seats and 192 councillorship positions across the state's 18 councils.

The Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC) conducted the elections in accordance with the provisions of the Edo State Local Government Electoral Law 2022, as amended in 2026. The results were announced following the accreditation, voting, sorting, counting, and collation processes, which were carried out in strict compliance with legal frameworks.

Mr. Jonathan Aifuobhokhan, the chairman of EDSIEC, expressed satisfaction with the electoral process and the performance of the electoral officials, particularly those who were returned to office.
