APC Wins All 18 Seats in Edo Local Government Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) achieved a clean sweep in the Edo State local government elections held on July 11, securing all 18 chairmanship seats. The elections were conducted by the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC) across the state's 18 local government areas.

Governor Okpebholo participated in the voting process at Udomi Primary School in Esan Central Local Government Area, arriving at the polling unit at 10:24 AM and joining the voter queue to cast his vote at 10:40 AM. He praised the peaceful conduct of the elections and noted a high voter turnout, reflecting grassroots democracy and public interest in local governance.

A total of 12 political parties participated in the elections, including the APC, Progress Grand Alliance (APGA), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Young Progressives Party (YPP), Accord Party, Action Alliance (AA), African Action Congress (AAC), Peoples Movement (APM), Action Democratic Party (ADP), Action Peoples Party (APP), Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), and National Rescue Movement (NRM). Notably, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) did not field candidates in this election.
