Six Ogun State PDP Lawmakers Defect to APC

Six members of the Ogun State House of Assembly, previously elected on the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). This shift increases the APC's representation in the assembly to a total of 26 members.

The defectors include Hon. Lukman Adeley, who is the minority leader representing Odogbolu constituency, along with Hon.

Bello Oluwadamilare from Sagamu, Hon. Lawal Samusideen from Ogun Waterside, Hon.

Adesanya Oluseun from Ijebu North East, Hon. Owod Waliu Ifedolapo from Ijebu East, and Hon.

Dickson Kolawole Awolaja from Remo North. The lawmakers reportedly attended an APC national convention in Abuja to formalize their defection.

Adeley confirmed the development in a telephone interview with Sunday Daily Trust, attributing the defections to crises within the PDP at the national level, including leadership tussles and factional influences led by Kabiru Turaki and Nyesom Wike.
