APC Labels Adeleke's Criticism of Tinubu as Desperation

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State condemned Governor Ademola Adeleke's criticism of President Bola Tinubu, describing it as indicative of "a desperate man facing defeat" in the lead-up to the August 15 governorship election. In a statement from Hon. Wole Oke, the Director-General of the APC Campaign Council, the party denounced Adeleke's comments as "reckless, inflammatory and seditious." During a campaign event in Olorunda Local Government Area, Adeleke warned against election rigging, referencing the 1983 political crisis in the South-West.

Oke dismissed Adeleke's allegations as unfounded and accused his administration of inciting political violence, claiming that since Adeleke took office, 30 APC members had been killed by thugs allegedly linked to his government. Oke also criticized Adeleke for releasing convicted criminals and harboring individuals on police watchlists.

The APC expressed confidence that its candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, would win the election and called for Adeleke to be accountable for the state's finances.
